Chip Morgan’s pickleball journey began in 2018, when his then-11-year-old son convinced him to “just play a few games.” They began competing together in 2019 and earned more than 20 medals at local, regional, and national events over the next two years. After competing together at the 2021 USA Pickleball National Championships, both continued developing their games and competing at higher levels within their respective age groups.
Chip served as President of DUPR from late 2022 through early 2023. During his tenure, he led the launch of Minor League Pickleball, hosted the inaugural DUPR Collegiate National Championship, and created an API that made ratings data available to platforms willing to contribute match results. Early adopters included PickleballBrackets.com and CourtReserve.
Today, Chip is a member of the APP Pro Player Services team, where he manages the data and operations supporting Pro, Champions, and Masters ranking points, tournament acceptance lists, and prize payments. He also advises the APP on new business initiatives.
Chip joined the Texas Stars ownership group in August 2026 and is excited to help grow the team, its community, and the sport of pickleball.
